Arrived to Budadogs: 10.01.2011 and this is what Budadogs wrote about Barry:

Barry was found in a terrible condition, curled up in front of a house in the snow and barely able to move at all. He was clearly in need of attention so we took him in.Barry has been at the hairdressers where he behaved like an angel.  He is friendly towards people and other dogs and especially enjoys playing with smaller dogs. At the moment he is staying in a fosterhome with two  very big male dogs and one female dog and he behaves well towards all of them. Barry does not bark even when the others do and has been calm and easy to care for.Barry is blind in one eye and has poor sight in the other but this does not mean he cannot enjoy life. Once he has found his way around it is actually difficult to believe that he cannot see perfectly. He is now familiar with the layout of his foster home and skips around the garden without a care in the world.  Barry is absolutely wonderful with children and regularly plays with a 4 year old girl. He just ADORES her and follows her everywhere.
Barry is looking for a home where he can enjoy the warmth and love he deserves and live out his days in a secure environment.

Barry today – a happy secure dog (Budadog of August 2011)

Barry is an exceptionally loving dog who would love nothing better than to be someone’s lap dog. He adores people and you can see the delight on his face when he gets a cuddle.

Barry is an older male Puli who was found in a terrible condition curled up outside a house in great pain. Since then he has had surgery to remove a lump on his shoulder and one eye, which in any case was non-functioning. In his other eye he has poor vision – on a bright sunny day he appears to see quite well, but on a dull day he sees very little.

Despite his physical limitations Barry lives life to the full running around the garden and happily following his fostermum on walks – he has a verbal command to indicate that a step is coming and on hearing “step-step” will stop and feel with his paw to see if it is a step up or down. Once Barry has mentally ‘mapped’ a place he will run around like a puppy and you would never guess his sight is limited.

Being a Puli has the added advantage that his coat does not shed so does not drop hairs around the house and is allergy friendly.

Since becoming a Budadog Barry has made huge progress. Initially he was terrified of people and would just lie down when approached. It was impossible to take him for a walk as he froze when the leash was attached. Now Barry walks nicely on or off leash and is walked with other dogs. He will do almost anything to get human affection and is happiest curled up next to his fostermum.

Barry simply adores children and regularly plays with the neighbour’s young granddaughter. He is very gentle and has a look of utter delight on his face at hearing her voice.

Barry is friendly to other dogs but will avoid those who try to play roughly as not having good sight means he is easily surprised by them. He currently lives with 4 other dogs, 2 large males, 1 large female and a smaller male and he gets on well with all of them. He is one of the easiest dogs you could have – he doesn’t need long walks and is happy to have a stroll around the park, all he really wants is a little love.

Barry is a dog who makes everyone he meets fall in love – his fostermum describes him as “the cutest little teddy bear” and we so want to find the right home for this super little chap.

Barry has got a new name now: BUDDY

Now he has moved to Norway and found the blanket of his choise
These are the two first pictures I have managed to take of him - he is so close to me at all times now, but I think I will get better pictures later when he has become more confident.
